Pastor's Message

Pastor Lynne Hinton

Greetings Friends!

Author D. H. Lawrence wrote, “Oh, for the wonder that bubbles into my soul.” It is the week of Thanksgiving and this is a special Sunday at St. Paul’s as we focus on praise and giving thanks in worship. Our scriptures come from Exodus 16:2-4 and from

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 and the sermon title is “Thank You, But Not So Much,” and we will be considering how it is that we live our lives in limited gratitude. The Children’s Chime Choir will be bringing our anthem and the Chancel Choir will be singing special music. Jeanne Plander is the worship leader and Ed and Susan Fieder will be hosting our time of fellowship. We also look forward to a special Thanksgiving service on Wednesday, November 26th beginning with a simple soup supper at 5:00 PM and then a time of worship at 6:00 PM.

Honoring the gift of gratitude will be a wonderful way to for all of us to begin our holiday season. Melody Beattie wrote, “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion to clarity…Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” As we begin our time of Thanksgiving and Advent, know that I am grateful for all of you! I look forward to sharing in worship with you this Sunday!

Love,

Pastor Lynne
